His Eminence Kalu Yangsi Rinpoche

In his previous life, His Eminence Kalu Yangsi Rinpoche was an authentic mahasiddha and he was a teacher to the Kagyu hierarchy; including the Eminences of the Karma Kagyu Lineage. He was one of a few tulkus who brought the vajrayana teachings to the world outside of Tibet. These teachings were originally hidden and very hard to get due to the remoteness of the region.

His Holiness the 16th Karmapa proclaimed him as a 20th century Milarepa. In Tibet, at an early age, he did isolated ascetic practice in caves. His life story can be found at KDK's bookstore. The present reincarnation was born in 1990 and has completed a 3 year retreat. He has traveled and taught in Asia and Europe as well as visiting the USA. He is fulfilling his predecessor's commitments and in the process of building three-year retreat centers. We look forward to his continuing visits and blessings.
